NEW STUFF!
Of course the big news is that this coming Saturday is my BDAY PARTY! And we better have more peeps than at Phil's Bday in July, so I can feel more popular haha! I already got a great surprise... Phil made plans for my amazing brother, Russ, to fly out from Florida to celebrate with us! They decided to tell me ahead of time, so I could schedule stuff. Phil thinks he deserves a thousand points for planning & treating for my brother's trip. I do admit, it was very thoughtful. And by the way, I had nothing to do with the purple in Phil's hair. He had it touched up yesterday, just in time for the festivities.

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES... DAY 3 & 4 w/ MINDIANA JONES & GRIZZLY ADAMS!
We have shared stories with you in the last few newsletters about our trip for Phil's bday in early July. Time to wrap that up quick, or else new people getting this will think it is still his bday, & Phil will get all the attention on Saturday at my party!
So Day 3, we went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (Phil's actual bday). We had lunch at the North Rim Lodge, & had a magnificent view of the canyon around us. Then we went on a light hike, & encountered a bridal path with flowers (don't get any ideas), mule deer, & a lovely German couple to stroll with along the way. When leaving the park, Phil slammed on his brakes, & we were stopped by probably the biggest buck we have ever seen, standing in the middle of the road! His antlers seemed a mile high.
On day 4, we went to Bryce Canyon, our favorite place on our journey. Each day was filled with unique land formations/shapes, colors, & life forms, but we loved the creatures & magical scenery best in Bryce Canyon. We saw the Grand National Staircase Escalante (sounds pretty fancy, but we didn't actually climb it, we just saw it), Uintah Chipmunks, Mule Deer, & Pronghorn Antelopes.
Our 5 day road trip must have worn Phil out... The morning after we got home, he offered to make me oatmeal for breakfast (remember that he is the chef in this family). After a while, he whizzed by me & said, "Love you, bye. I'm going to the gym." I asked what had happened to my breakfast. The look on his face answered my question. I peeked in the kitchen, & saw that the stove was on, with a pot of water on it, boiling away. Guess that's why they say that sometimes you need a vacation after your vacation!

Beginner West Coast Swing class now at 6:30 pm

No partner needed & no experience needed for beginner class. Drop-ins always welcome. Please spread the word! This venue is ages 18 & up. Nice studio w/ & FREE parking lot in front of the studio. With great sadness, we are announcing that we will no longer have classes at our Lancaster venue. Since our move to Long Beach, it was an even longer trek, & we have been considering starting classes at a venue closer to home. It has been a very difficult decision; so many amazing people in the Lancaster dance family over many years. We love you all, and thank you for all the fun & memories!

GUEST INSTRUCTORS CHRISTIAN COUNTRY ROUND-UP DANCE: ALL ARE WELCOME! FREE FOR FIRST TIMERS! You can usually find us at the Clubhouse in Placentia (formerly the Atomic) on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the CCR Dance. We teach two Intermediate classes; the first class changes every month (TBA soon) at 6:45 pm, & the second class is usually WEST COAST SWING at 7:25 pm. (Must know your basics; no partner needed). There is usually a theme & treats! (There are also Beginner classes.) Open Dancing is a mix of music. FIRST TIMERS FREE (except on a few special occasions). We are both available for private lessons there, but with limited space & time slots. Please schedule in advance.

COST: $20, or $15 for SoCal Christian Dance Club Members. Membership is only $20 for the entire year.
* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
