JOIN US FOR OUR MONTHLY WORKSHOP & DANCE on FEBRUARY 3rd. Woo Hoo!
Join us for our fun, monthly event. Usually 150 to 220ish (Lol!) dancers come out to share their passion. COUNTRY 2-STEP, NIGHTCLUB 2-STEP, & WEST COAST SWING WORKSHOPS (must be at least Intermediate level), followed by SOCIAL DANCING! Private lessons may be available. NEVER TOO LATE TO GROW
Phil's favorite story lately is that he had a full physical (last week), & lo & behold, he grew an inch! Phil claims that he was always measured at 5'8"... all his years as an adult. Four years ago at his last complete physical, Phil was happy that his weight was 169 pounds; a weight he had not been at in ten years. But then he got the news that he had shrunk a quarter inch. The shift from happy to depressed happened in a flash. At Phil's recent physical, he weighed 172 pounds, but he grew a full inch. I figured it was his purple hair wave, or maybe his new orthotics, or even his swollen forehead from the day before at the gym, when he hit himself (ask him later about that one)... But Phil shot down all of my theories for his taller status. He is convinced that new STRETCHING he started about a year ago is the explanation. Hmmmmm. (Btw, Phil is sporting a stylish gray vest today, that I bought for him, of course. He just looked at himself in the mirror, & buttoned it up, as he commented that it makes him look thinner. Mike is sitting here as I finish writing at the studio during the C2step workshop. He observed that buttoning the vest may have made Phil grow another inch, since it compressed everything up!)
As for me, I was always measured at 5 feet tall in my adult years. Over 20 years ago (when I was one Lol), I started WCS & partner dancing on the east coast (I'm from the Philly area). A few years after, I was measured for the first time at 5'1"! I was convinced it was from the new posture, frame, & dance technique training. Phil has no theories to add about my story. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Moral of the story: Do lots more dancing & stretching! My first career I was a Physical Therapist, so this all makes so much sense.
NEW THURSDAY CHANGES & REARRANGES!
The good news: Hope u heard what the excitement is about... Phil & I are now teaching all three levels of WCS classes. AND only one class is taught at a time, so that we can focus on the students, & lessen distractions. It's going well, & our numbers are up from last year for January attendance. The not so good news: Our Thursday night venue management has increased our rental fee by a third (as of last week. Ouch. Please come out & support, bring your friends! Social Dancing continues at 8:30pm after classes. First timers always free!

6:15 to 7:00pm Beginner WCS w/ Phil & Mindia!
7:00 to 7:45pm Intermediate WCS w/Phil & Mindia!
7:45 to 8:30pm Int./Advanced WCS w/ Phil & Mindia!
8:30 to 11:00pm Open Dancing w/ DJs Phil & Mindia!
***VERY IMPORTANT NOTES***
Please be on time, as scheduled above. Really? This is no joke. We will not have our usual 15 minute late start & break time in between classes. Looks like Phil & I will be working longer hours Lol!
Classes will continue to be $10. The dance will be $10, or just $5 if you pay for a class. The dance will continue to be free for people just taking & paying for the beginner class.

"LOVE FOREVER" MUSIC VIDEO
A while back, a sweet couple (former students), David & Brittany Farkas, came to our Thursday venue at Westchester Elks (Playa Del Rey), to film a music video for a song from their new album! We were so thrilled to be a part of this music video project with our inspired dance family! David & Brittany are a lovely couple; they are talented musicians as well. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Please enjoy the music video... watch until the very end for a fun-loving surprise! It was a treat to get to dance to the beautiful song "Love Forever" & share all the joy with everyone.
2017 INTERNATIONAL WEST COAST SWING FLASHMOB COMPILATION VIDEO HAS BEEN RELEASED WOW!
Such a great experience this summer teaching the Flashmob routine to our students. They worked hard, & made us so proud to witness there achievements. We chose a wonderful venue downtown at GRAND PARK in LOS ANGELES on SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2017! Bravo to everyone. We had 74 dancers in 101 degree heat! Thank you to France for putting this amazing video (& everything else) all together. 246 cities were represented throughout 41 countries around the world. The video is in alphabetical order according to city location; look for our Los Angeles dancers with the "L" cities. Watching the video is like a going on a great adventure, with beautiful scenery & WCS dancers. So here is our other video share:

PRIVATE LESSONS!
Private lessons may be available with Phil or myself. You will have fun, & learn stuff too! Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays. Various venues. Let us know if interested. Privates may also be split between 2 to 4 people (maybe more). Ask for the $5 discount per DVD when you schedule.

Payment & Options: Dance DVSs are $35 each (plus tax if credit card payment). Credit card payments are available in person, (or cash or check in person is fine also), or through our web store. If order your DVDs through our website, you have the option to click the "pick up at class" option (to avoid shipping charges), or you can have them shipped.

* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
