NEW STUFF!
Great fun at our 1st Saturday Event last month. 120 people came out, despite the rain storm Lol. Perhaps the lightest night for us, but what a fun night. (120 is a light crowd? We are lucky). Please come support rain or shine. We are fortunate to have one of the biggest, nicest ballroom studios in LA. But it does cost a lot to rent. So we will see u TOMORROW! Also a big thanks to Randy (& Mark) for bringing healthy snacks every month.

Join us for our fun, monthly event. Usually 150 to 200 dancers come out to share their passion. COUNTRY 2-STEP, NIGHTCLUB 2-STEP, & WEST COAST SWING WORKSHOPS (must be at least Intermediate level), followed by SOCIAL DANCING! Private lessons may be available. Is It Nap Time Yet???
If I seem very tired tomorrow, it's because I stayed up very late, again, last night... to work on this newsletter (which was after we got home from our Thursday dance). It's a lot of work, but I love to write (as you can tell). And if Phil seems more rested tomorrow, it's because he relaxed on the couch, after we got home from our Thursday dance. Good thing I have Jasper Cat to keep me company. I have never had a cup of coffee in my life, but may need to try it out Saturday Lol!!!
4th FRIDAY, MARCH 22nd, 2019: PRESS BOX
(Westminster, OC)! We will be hosting the night Teaching & DJing. Here's a Little History...
We had a great turn-out at the Press Box in January. Thanks for all the support. We are happy to be on the schedule again for March. I started dancing at the Press Box 20 years ago, when I moved out here from Philly. (When I was about 5 years old?) Kenny Wetzel was the famous DJ. I moved out here to pursue WCS dancing. I met my first WCS teacher in 1996 in Philly, who was a Skippy Blair student. I took private lessons right away; I was so excited to learn this amazing dance! I actually began dancing at the age of 3, but it was more jazz, contemporary, & improvisational/freestyle. Until I discovered partner dancing. My Philly teacher encouraged all students to study with Skippy. So in 1998, I came to Cali to do a week long intensive with her. And I decided to stay. As for Phil, he said that he started going to the Press Box about 35 years ago, & that he met the legendary Maryann Nunez there. So much history. This January was our first time teaching/DJing there. A wonderful opportunity. Join us there next month.

Here is where we get to pick on our readers, instead of each other! I always like to do some freestyle dancing at our dances (weekly Thursday, 1st Saturday, etc.) Anyone is welcome to join. So when we hosted at the Press Box recently, I was freestyling with Debbie, Adam, & Tom. As the song was starting, Adam said that he didn't have any moves. I'm calling him out because he had great moves. I'll be stealing some Lol! We all really had fun.

We have two DVDs available, Beginner & Intermediate WCS. You can purchase them with a credit card in person (cash or check is fine also), or through our web store! More info about payment & options under Highlights.
PUNCH CARDS
We have punch cards available for purchase: ten classes for $100 w/ the eleventh class FREE! Punch cards do not expire. We do take credit cards in person or through our web-store.

*DANCE DVD'S!: Payment & Options: Dance DVSs are $35 each (plus tax if credit card payment). Credit card payments are available in person, (or cash or check in person is fine also), or through our web store. If order your DVDs through our website, you have the option to click the "pick up at class" option (to avoid shipping charges), or you can have them shipped.

* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
