A Day in the Life of...

NEW STUFF!
I sent Phil off to work a little while ago... I am home having a sick day boo hoo! I will miss all of you tonight at our 1st Saturday Event. At least Jasper Cat is here to keep me company. He is a good influence for taking naps & resting. I thought I had strained my throat (from a few things) on Thursday. I felt fine, so I went to work hoarse. I tried to talk less while teaching (& at home; Phil was happy Lol). A few students asked if I was hoarse from yelling at Phil (since he was a bad shoulder surgery patient? Etc.?) Quite a pair: Phil was the one arm wonder, & I was trying to rest my voice. The Potluck Party was great, as was the newly finished Elks floor (our group was the first to test it out), & the fixed AC yay! But yesterday I got more symptoms, & started feeling sick. What a bummer. Please join Phil today & support at South Bay Dance Center in Lomita.

Join us for our fun, monthly event. Usually 150 to 200 dancers come out to share their passion. COUNTRY 2-STEP, NIGHTCLUB 2-STEP, & WEST COAST SWING WORKSHOPS (must be at least Intermediate level), followed by SOCIAL DANCING! Private lessons may be available. See link above (1st Saturday Monthly Event) for details. Ages 18 & up.

4th SATURDAY, APRIL 27th: GUEST INSTRUCTORS, SOUTH BAY SWING! Int./Adv. WCS workshop.
We had fun teaching... it was about 10 days after Phil's shoulder surgery OMG. He was actually back to work after 5 days, using only his left arm. Good thing he leads & is left handed. His right arm in a sling made for some new joke material. We taught a pattern where he told the leaders they had to keep their right hand in their pockets the entire class haha! I said that was to have compassion for the teacher.
PHIL'S SHOULDER UPDATE
Phil is doing much better than the first few days after surgery (see my three FB updates from mid April). Many great posts & comments from peeps; thanks for all the love & support. Mary Jo had one of my favorites. She said something like feeling bad for me, because I had no pain meds to help me through hahaha! Phil tends to be a difficult, non-compliant patient. I have known that many years. But karma comes back around. He asked me to help him button his shirt yesterday, so I bottoned it uneven. Lol. Also now that I'm trying to rest my voice, he had to be my secretary & make calls for me. I had to cancel some private lessons, one of which Phil was able to take. I had Phil text the woman scheduled, to tell her that I am sick & cannot teach. So sorry. I had him ask her if she would be willing to have him as a sub. And I said to tell her that Phil is decent. Hahahahahaha! She said ok.

There have been a few delays this week in getting our email newsletter out, & now I am sick. I got this funny video from John Lodin in a text yesterday. It made me laugh, & gave me big smiles. I am so grateful for the things people say & do to appreciate the fun result. The newsletter takes a lot of prep, organizing, work, & time to do every month... But I really enjoy writing it, & Phil often does put his two cents in. (I make notes all month long about ideas for stories etc.) I posted this video on FB; it has 271 views already, & it's not even been 24 hours. 20 views are probably from me (if it counts the same person more than once). This seagull video could be getting more views than our workshop videos hahaha! Maybe better for our biz promo! And thanks to Justin for saving the day... he helped me just now to figure out how to upload this tricky video. Just-in time.

We have two DVDs available, Beginner & Intermediate WCS. You can purchase them with a credit card in person (cash or check is fine also), or through our web store! More info about payment & options under Highlights.
PUNCH CARDS
We have punch cards available for purchase: ten classes for $100 w/ the eleventh class FREE! Punch cards do not expire. We do take credit cards in person or through our web-store.

*DANCE DVD'S!: Payment & Options: Dance DVSs are $35 each (plus tax if credit card payment). Credit card payments are available in person, (or cash or check in person is fine also), or through our web store. If order your DVDs through our website, you have the option to click the "pick up at class" option (to avoid shipping charges), or you can have them shipped.

* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
