We have launched our online zoom dance classes & it's going great! So we decided to add our 1st Saturdays into our new schedule. (Gradually will be adding other stuff too. Partner dancing, & line dance/solo classes.) Just in time for Phil's big day. Phil is happy since he can have the entire cake to himself. He doesn't have to share it with 200 people.

7:15 to 8:00 pm ADVANCED WEST COAST SWING
8:00 to 9:00 pm Social Dancing w/ DJs Phil & Mindia. Also chat time with friends on Zoom. Bring your own cake & wish Phil a HAPPY BDAY!
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND... OUR SUMMER SURPRISE FOR EVERYONE...ESPECIALLY PEOPLE WITHOUT A PARTNER. LEARN THE NEW USHER LINE DANCE CHALLENGE! I saw that Usher, with Jermain Dupri, created a line dance & challenge in April. Intended for these challenging times, Usher wanted to get people up & dancing. Being that these are not ideal times for partner dancing, I thought it would be a great thing to share. The line dance is called "Da Sauce," based on the song "Don't Waste My Time" that Usher sings with Ella Mai.
We had about 40 people in the debut class we taught on June 23rd (not including all our pets). Ages 6 to 80ish. It made my heart smile. Thanks to Dario for editing the song to use for class.

SILVER LININGS & HEART FINDINGS with ZOOM DANCE!
Crazy life still... Heartbreaking times for many of us in different ways. I'm so grateful for zoom dancing! We are off to a great start with online dance classes. Perhaps as important (or more?) than dancing is coming together in community. Especially during such tough times. It has been so uplifting to see so many of you dancing in our living room. And Jasper Cat loves company. He is the happiest person, since we do not go out anymore, & he can join our classes Lol. We get to meet new dancers joining us from all over. We may have more people other countries soon... wow! Please come join the fun.
Here are some silver linings (from the pandemic) with ZOOM Dance...

ANOTHER THEORY 1, 2, or 3????
We have been popular on zoom so far. Are people coming for Phil & Mindia Dance (Theory 1)? Or are they coming to see Jasper Cat's show (Theory 2)? Hopefully peeps are coming for both (Theory 3). The latest is that we got a donation check in the mail. The envelope had three names on it. Jasper's was first. So he gets 50% cut, & Phil & I each get 25%?

We have had 50 to 60 peeps on Thursdays. We have had Florida in the house with my brother (the first heckler Justin, our moderator, had to silence Lol). We had Texas in the house with Phil's daughter Lauren's family. Also Phil's son Robert joined classes from LA County. So people got to see Phil's grandkids!

Zoom is FREE, & very user friendly. You can use your cell phone, tablet, or computer. Preferably a computer, since it has a bigger screen. (You do not need an account.) If possible, hook up your computer to your TV set for a larger image. Then we can all be TV stars.
If you are new to zoom, join the class 10 minutes early for a tutorial. No extra fee Lol.

We are hoping to improve the quality of our videos from zoom. The whole zoom thing is quite a work in progress.

Some skeptics are now saying they love zoom dancing with us. It really is an amazing platform to help us connect. If you have questions or need help, prior to class, let us know. Phil has decent tech support skills Lol.

We could not not have survived the zoom transition online without him. He gives us endless hours of support, in many ways. He moderates our zoom classes. Jim also helped us in the early zoom learning curve.
ZOOM CLASS DISCLAIMER: MANDATORY READ, BUT ENTERTAINING.
Normally in our classes, we have new students sign a one time liability waiver, as per our insurance company's protocol. Since we cannot give you a waiver in person for now, for all upcoming zoom classes that we teach, we are not liable for any injuries/ issues with participants. This includes:
1. Broken furniture due to arm styling or dancing out of your slot etc.
2. Trip & fall, due to your pet in the way.
3. Mental distress due to separation anxiety, since you can't be with us in person.

***NOTE***
As far as the Pandemic... we are supporting precautions to still stay home as much as possible, & to use social distancing (minimum 6 feet) & masks etc. when out in public. Things are worsening in many areas of California & elsewhere. We have a huge responsibility to our dance family, & do not want to take chances on any "in person" dance stuff, before we think it's safe. Between Phil & I, we have had six family members who have had Coronavirus. Fortunately they are all ok now, but it was very scary. That definitely has been an influence on our cautiousness. So we will watch & wait for awhile. Thank goodness for Zoom options. Not ideal, but at least we can be together & dance!

Here is where we get to pick on our readers, instead of each other Lol. I'm calling out Mary. After a recent Thursday zoom class, she said that she was craving our pub mix snack, that we used to put out at Westchester Elks. So what did I end up eating at 10pm that night? Too much pub mix, that we had stashed away at home. XO.

Being that things are so up in the air this year, & most WCS dance events are being cancelled/postponed in 2020 around the world, it's difficult to commit & plan to working on the routine. What is your interest level at this point? Please let us know if you want to start working on the routine (via Zoom), with or without a partner, even with the uncertainty of the situation.

Private lessons may be available with Phil or myself. You will have fun, & learn stuff too! Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Saturdays. Various venues. Let us know if interested. Privates may also be split between 2 to 4 people (maybe more). Ask for the $5 discount per DVD when you schedule.

*DANCE DVD'S!: Payment & Options: Dance DVSs are $35 each (plus tax if credit card payment). Credit card payments are available in person, (or cash or check in person is fine also), or through our web store. If order your DVDs through our website, you have the option to click the "pick up at class" option (to avoid shipping charges), or you can have them shipped.

* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
