NEW STUFF!
We have the perfect story to continue from the last newsletter about kitchen duty...
Phil had a tiny skin thingy removed from his finger recently. So when he was home getting our lunch ready, he actually asked ME to help him in the kitchen with making a salad. Shocking! Being the caring & compassionate girlfriend that I am, I said ok. While peeling the cucumber (not the easiest job for an amateur), Phil complained that I should do it his way, without the peeler, & use the knife instead. Well, if you ask for help, you are not supposed to criticize the helper haha! Phil says that he got tired of me whining about the peeler not cooperating. This is exactly why I don't belong in the kitchen. One of my main roles in our relationship is taking care of our business. I take care of many things, including this newsletter, our website, all of our promoting (Facebook invites & posts, flyers etc.), our data base on Constant Contact & gmail, & our business emails. I also get a lot of our new music; although Phil is trying to catch up since I have been back in school! He wants to count how many songs he got to prove he makes a difference. We should have a DJ battle to settle it. (This is only a partial list of all that I do.)
Don't forget that our 1st SATURDAY WORKSHOP & DANCE is this weekend, JUNE 6th, at the Hacienda (Double H Club)! (See link above for details.) Also mark you calendars for SATURDAY, JULY 4th... we will be celebrating PHIL'S BIRTHDAY also at the Hacienda!!! (He requested an early plug:-) He is accepting presents anytime.
We have two THURSDAY DJ NIGHTS in JUNE: Tomorrow JUNE 4th, & June 25th.
Go check out our DANCE TEAM'S PERFORMANCE from FRESNO; it's on our Facebook wall (either mine or Phil's). They did awesome! So much acknowledgement & great feedback from so many people. We are adding more choreography, & will schedule more local performances soon. Stay tuned...
By the way, have I mentioned that I don't do housework either? (It kinda goes along with no kitchen duty). For some reason, I made the bed the other morning; maybe because of Phil's finger? I'm too good to him. So I noticed that his pillow weighed a ton! That night when we went to bed (don't worry, this is not a TMI story), I asked him why his pillow weighed 50 pounds. His response, in an extra deep voice "To support my massive brain." Well, that does simplify things. Did he forget that we write a newsletter, & that that would make for perfect material? (Yes, Alan R., I am using the "P" word again haha!)
I finally found out that I am getting an "A" in my ballet class also! (Phil just offered to loan me his pillow, since my brain is getting bigger by the minute.) At the end of my last semester, I did get to perform in the Spring Showcase at school. My jazz teacher, Jenny Stevens, put the show together & did a great job. We danced a classic jazz routine, & also a more lyrical, contemporary routine. I now have a well-deserved rest this summer.

GREAT DANCE FLOOR! EASY, FREE PARKING: In lot next to the building (enter from the drive way off of Mariposa Street), or street parking, or public parking lot across Main Street. Location is near the intersection of Mariposa & Main Streets (very close to Masonic Temple). You will see the building easiest from Mariposa Street (the side street that the Hacienda is on). It is next to the United Methodist Church, close to Main Street. No partner needed for classes. No bar, bring water. Ages 17 & up.

FYI: PRIVATE LESSONS: *We are available for private dance lessons throughout the week; contact us about scheduling. You can also split privates with another person for the same cost. Let us know if you are looking for somebody to share a lesson with; we can help you. We have a few guys looking for ladies right now. Also 30 minute privates may be available if you can't find somebody to split one with.

You can usually find us at the Clubhouse in Placentia (formerly the Atomic) on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the CCR Dance. We teach two Intermediate classes TBA at 6:45pm, & WEST COAST SWING at 7:25pm (must know your basics). There is usually a theme & treats! (There are also Beginner classes.) Open Dancing is a mix of music. FIRST TIMERS FREE (except on a few special occasions). We are both available for private lessons there, but with limited space & time slots. COST: $20, or $15 for SoCal Christian Dance Club Members. Membership is only $20 for the entire year.
* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Come out for classes & dancing on THURSDAYS at the HACIENDA! (For details click link at the top: Weekly Classes Hacienda.) I teach a FREE Beginner 1 West Coast Swing (Intro) class at 6:30 pm every Thursday.
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
