Same Workshop & Dance schedule for tomorrow; Phil & I DJ, & DJ Carlus Tyler Reed will DJ a set of great music! (See link above for details.)
By the way, I know in our newsletters I tease & pick on Phil a lot.
But he does have many wonderful qualities. I just looked at Phil & told him that nothing is coming to mind; please help me list some of your attributes! Just kidding. He is generous, kind, sensitive (but he won't admit it), loyal, dependable, great with: kitchen duty, cleaning, errands & emptying trash, & he loves & cares for both of our families. And his dancing is beyond words! (I can't get him to stop listing things now! We don't have all day here; we start teaching at noon tomorrow haha! Two or three good things would have done the job.) He is actually giving me a hard time now for leaving out handsome, gorgeous, & sexy!
But I do really love him! Happy Birthday, Baby!
Free Parking at Hacienda!
As long as the gate is open, you can park for free in the Hacienda Lot, entrance on Mariposa Street.
New Venue for 1st Saturday Event August 1st, 2015: Memories in Whittier! Celebrating our 4 year anniversary, wow!
As you may have heard, the Hacienda dancing venue is closing; we feel sad to say goodbye to a place where we have had so many years of great memories. Looking ahead, we are excited about new opportunities, & creating even better adventures!
Just for the month of August, we will have our Workshop & Dance at Memories, a lovely venue in Old Town Whittier. Phil will be celebrating the most important decision he has ever made... choosing me... the most amazing, beautiful, funny, creative, sensitive, spiritual person he ever met! (He is listing these qualities now.) Who also is a very sexy, dancing diva! He wants me to get him a t-shirt that says, "I survived four years with Mindia!" Wait a minute! I think it should be the other way around. You have all been reading the newsletter stories. I deserve the t-shirt!
Please come support through our transitions; we especially need your help to keep things going. There will be price changes & cover charges upcoming, to help pay for our costs for space rentals. For this venue, ages 18 & up is ok.

We will continue our weekly Thursday WCS night (classes & dance) at the Hacienda through July 23rd! We will switch to a new venue the following week. We will announce the new venue very soon; we are reviewing a contact to sign! Please keep coming to support our amazing community.

AUGUST SCHEDULE CHANGES
*Starting Tuesday, August 4th, class times will be switched! So Beginner WCS class will be at 6:30pm & Intermediate WCS will be at 7:30pm. Cost is $10 drop-in.
*Starting Tuesday, August 4th, a new Beginner West Coast Swing 8 week series! Discount price for the series; $60 if paid by August 4th.
Drop-ins will still be welcome any time; $10 per class.

And the Winner Is...
It has been awhile since discussing our little "who is healthier" contest. But Phil says that there is no need to go further, because he just bought four pairs of size 30 waist pants (first time in decades???)! Also, he says, "A lady came out dancing last night that hadn't seen me in about ten years, & her first reaction was about all the weight I have lost. Although I get that a lot these days." Just to give you a visual aid, when Phil mentioned about his pant size a minute ago, he added a slam-dunk gesture to emphasize his delight. Too bad I didn't recognize what he was doing, since he was lounging on the couch, & to me it looked more like bad ladies arm styling for hustle dance. (I did have a story for you from Cheesecake factory, but looks like I will save that for next time.)

GUEST INSTRUCTORS CHRISTIAN COUNTRY ROUND-UP DANCE: ALL ARE WELCOME! FREE FOR FIRST TIMERS! You can usually find us at the Clubhouse in Placentia (formerly the Atomic) on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the CCR Dance. We teach two Intermediate classes TBA at 6:45pm, & WEST COAST SWING at 7:25pm. (Must know your basics; no partner needed). There is usually a theme & treats! (There are also Beginner classes.) Open Dancing is a mix of music. FIRST TIMERS FREE (except on a few special occasions). We are both available for private lessons there, but with limited space & time slots. Please schedule in advance.

COST: $20, or $15 for SoCal Christian Dance Club Members. Membership is only $20 for the entire year.
* All of our classes are drop-in (some do run in a series). No partner needed for any of our classes. No prior dance experience needed for Beginner classes. Two left feet are welcomed; we will introduce you to your right foot! (Phil wanted credit for that last comment.)
* Come out for classes & dancing on THURSDAYS at the HACIENDA! (For details click link at the top: Weekly Classes Hacienda.) I teach a FREE Beginner 1 West Coast Swing (Intro) class at 6:30pm every Thursday.
* Once you have moved up from our Beginner level classes to Intermediate and then later Advanced, you are welcome to continue taking our Beginner classes for FREE! We want to encourage you to continue working on your basics; that is most important to develop a strong foundation. The best dancers usually are the ones who have worked on their basics for years. When you keep taking Beginner classes, you are also helping the new students to progress faster, since they get to rotate & dance with more experienced dancers.
